Countryside

There's plenty to see and do whilst enjoying a relaxing leisure break at the Burley Manor Hotel. The hotel offers tastefully decorated bedrooms, cosy lounges, delicious food and friendly, helpful staff.

A peaceful collection of tea-rooms, antique and curiosity shops await you in the village of Burley itself. Or perhaps take a drive to Liberty's Raptor and Reptile Centre, and see an amazing array of birds of prey and reptiles.

The village of Burley is situated in a prime location in the middle of the New Forest National Park with miles of heath land and forest to every side. Within the village The Burley Manor Hotel is the jewel in the crown, providing the ideal base for a short or weekend break to this beautiful part of the country. Burley Manor was a Royal Manor for 200 years and the current building was built in 1852 and provides a comfortable stay in traditional surroundings.

Whatever you are looking for in a short weekend break the Burley Manor Hotel is the ideal base for your excursions. The hotel itself boasts a heated outdoor swimming pool which is open between April and September. In the village itself there are opportunities to get in the saddle, either on a bicycle hired from Forest Leisure Cycling, or atop a horse from the Burley Villa School of Riding who provide organised hacks through the forest for all levels of riders.

Burley has been a sought after hideaway for many people over the centuries, and is renowned not only for its Royal Manor status, but also for witches, smugglers and highwaymen! The Queens Head pub in the village, built in the 16th Century, was being refitted when the builders found a hidden cellar beneath the stable restaurant which contained pistols, bottles and coins believed to be a smugglers hoard.

There are so many attractions in the New Forest you will want to return time and again to receive the warm welcome of The Burley Manor Hotel and a short weekend break to remember.
